Deep Sea Charter Fishing Aboard the Tornado!
WESTPORT CHARTER FISHING
Father’s Day was fast approaching, and I wanted to surprise my husband with a fun excursion. After listening to Aaron talk about charter fishing, I knew the direction I needed to go! I hopped online and spent quite a while reading reviews of the various charter fishing companies that call Westport, Washington home. I’d worked in Grays Harbor and was very familiar with the fishing industry - I just needed the newest reviews, prices, and details of which trip to book. After going back and forth between salmon or a combo trip to find lingcod and rockfish, I decided to give the charter company a call and just ask. I love to eat fish and wanted to set him up with the best chance of bringing home enough to fill the freezer! The wonderful lady who answered patiently explained the ins and outs of each trip and I finally just asked her to book the best trip she had, the Cadillac experience. She immediately recommended the deep-water trip and I’m so thankful we went that route! I held a few spots for a few of Aaron’s friends and called to ask if they wanted to go - of course they did!
The deep-water trip requires an EARLY check-in (4:45 a.m.) so after surprising Aaron, he quickly booked a hotel for the night before. With coffee in hand, and a light breakfast, the group set out for an amazing day! A few quick tips:
Check the weather but bring rain gear regardless.
Wear comfortable shoes or rubber beach boots.
Bring a small backpack to store personal items and a few snacks if you can stomach eating on the ocean.
Dramamine is always a good thing just in case.
